The north facing corries and slopes of Cairngorm Mountain,Scotlands premier snowsport resort enjoyed a huge transformation with the opening
of the Funicular Mountain Railway, a modern high speed funicular train. It provides, quick and easy high speed access from the base stationand car park at 610 metres to the Ptarmigan Plateaux at 1,100 metres just below the summit of Cairngorm. At full speed 2km journey transports skiers in only 6 minutes to the mountain top and higher nursery slopes.

Ptarmigan Restaurant and Bar
The Cairngorm snow area covers 598 hectares and offers excellent skiing and boarding for everyone from beginners to experts alike, there are nursery areas both on the lower slopes and on the large plateaux at the top of the funicular. Intermediates are well catered for with a variety of pistes spread over the two linked coires that form the snow area.
Advanced skiers and boarders will enjoy the East and West walls and the Ciste Gully. If moguls are your passion then the White Lady Bumps take some beating or why not try the challenging M1 run. As fast as its name implies, offers an exhilarating challenge. |
