There are few destinations in the world more beautiful than the Cairngorms National Park during winter – home to Scotland’s premier snowsport resort. The ski resort opens between December and April depending on snowfall.
There are more than 30km of ski runs as well as a fully maintained snowboard park. There are a variety of slopes spread over two corries for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers to enjoy. There is also a snow cannon which can be used to improve snow conditions when necessary.
In addition to the Ptarmigan mountain restaurant there is the popular Cas bar in the Day Lodge at Base station with a roaring log fire and serving light snacks and drinks throughout the day. A popular stop, for a hot gluwein or large beer. The Mountain Shop and the Shop at the Top have a good range of ski accessories, clothing and gifts.
